Music Video - Draft 2

For this draft, I experimented with filters that gave a vintage effect, so that the audience can easily differentiate between flashbacks and the present. Yoli and I agreed that purple/red hues achieved the 'aged' film effect most successfully; although green/blue tones made many background look prettier with emphasis on nature, it left scenes feeling cold and it still wasn't clear which clips were flashbacks and which were in the present. In contrast, the purple/red hues made the scene warmer, representative of good memories (often bathed in golden light), and although things like the grass didn't look as nice, it certainly gave an old camera effect.

We gently shifted a couple of clips in the second half of the video as although we were mostly happy with the narrative, Yoli believed it could be improved with a couple of other clips she had come across. After seeing the alternative version played, I agreed that the narrative flowed more smoothly with this new structure.
In addition to this, we made sure to cut the video of Arthur seemingly looking up Robyn's skirt, replacing it with a close up shot of the pair engraving their initials into a park bench.

Things I believe we should aim to alter in our next draft:

  • Colour correct school scenes
  •  Change the dimensions of the flashbacks to give it an old camera effect (and make it clearer to the audience)
  • Colour correct London footage
